Ecuador expedition
Donation protected
I am a student at Devizes School and I am participating in an expedition to Ecuador in the Amazon in 2025.
This will be a four-week expedition and will include community development work, environmental projects and wildlife conservation.
The core objectives of this expedition are to undertake projects in order to:
- Raise the educational standards of developing communities within a rural district of Ecuador
- Raise the living standards of developing communities, within a rural district of Ecuador
- Assist with ongoing wildlife conservation programs to preserve biodiversity and protect vulnerable habitats.
This expedition is extremely important to me because I feel that I will acquire and develop many important life skills such as
teamwork, leadership skills, resilience, giving back to the community, diversity and a strong work ethic.
I am really looking forward to experiencing a different culture and living with the locals in a new environment. This will be a real challenge and push me out of my comfort zone. During the expedition I will need to overcome the Andes Mountain trek and the local cuisine which will be really tough.
In preparation, I will be climbing the Three Highest Peaks in the UK, which are Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. For a warm up, I will be doing Pen-Y-Fan in Brecon which is the training ground for the SAS.
I would be extremely grateful for any and all contributions you can make towards my fundraising.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my adventure,
