Arletha's Emergency Fund Support
Donation protected
On January 22, 2014, I drove myself to the emergency room as I was suffering from excruciating pain on my left side. Weeks prior I noticed a lump protruding from my belly, but dismissed it since I didn't have insurance at the time. However, after five days of suffering from near fainting pain, I decided I needed to see what was going on. Within an hour of seeing an emergency room doctor, and having a CT Scan, I was informed that I needed emergency surgery that afternoon! Thank God for His leading. Since my blood levels were already low, and I was dealing with other complications, I was able to negotiate surgery for the next day. Just enough time to send two manic e-mails to family, and representatives from each of my group of friends. Later I realized the drugs had taken effect quicker than anticipated and my cries for help were more like hieroglyphics. I underwent three major surgeries at once, including the removal of a benign mass the size of a grapefruit. My resolve after this experience is I am grateful to God that I Am Alive! Yet I find myself in an interesting quandary: I'm on 6-8 weeks bed rest, I have no source of income to manage my household, I'm single, and far away from family. Very vulnerable to say the least. I have relied mostly on the graciousness of my circle of friends for meals, and checking on me. The lurking thought of where the extra income will come from to manage the day-to-day and the unexpected cost of being on bed rest does challenge my recovery efforts. I also am concerned about how soon I can find work once I am able to work again. **long sigh**I am usually strong, and self-sufficient. Yet, I find myself in a place where I really do need the support of others. Would you be willing to help me? Humbly yours, Arletha JohnsonInbox/e-mail/call me if you have any questions.
