My name is Niki-Lee Prince. I’m starting this go fund me in support of my mom Linda Nahamko in her fight against cancer.

Linda is the most wonderful woman in this world. My mama is beautiful on the inside and out. She is kind, supportive, loving, and a friend to everyone. She raised 5 beautiful daughters and has worked hard her entire life. At 68 years old my mom was starting to enjoy her retirement until things turned for the worst.

In July of 2024 we received news that Linda’s life would change forever. Linda was diagnosed with a rare cancer, specifically a soft tissue sarcoma that was located on her left wrist. In August she received surgery to have her tumour removed, unfortunately the cancer had spread into her tendons and nerves in her wrist and they had to make the ultimate decision to amputate Linda’s left hand.

After Linda’s amputation the doctors had discovered that Linda had also developed lung cancer where they found 15-20 tumours on her lungs. She then started chemo therapy.

While doing chemo therapy Linda has now developed another sarcoma on her left bicep which is now the size of a plum. Surgery is not an option at this point because of how fast soft tissue sarcomas can spread. Sarcomas spread fast and aggressively so she will be starting radiation.

last week Linda was air lifted from Grande Prarie to Edmonton. We had an extreme scare and I thought the worst. In the morning Linda’s nose was leaking a pink tinted fluid that would not stop, Tom her husband took her into the hospital where they found out Linda’s blood platelets had dropped significantly, she had heart attack symptoms shortly after leaving the hospital in grande cache and ended up back in the hospital for 6 hours until the doctors discharged her and ordered Tom to drive her to GP for a platelet transfusion. My mom and dad stopped in for dinner at my house before they left, where the worst possible scenario happened right at my kitchen table. Linda had lost consciousness while trying to eat her dinner. The ambulance and fire department were called and took her back to GC hospital and then transferred to grande prarie. While in grande prarie hospital we were informed that Linda had ZERO platelets in her body due to contracting a fungal infection in her body due to low-no immune system from chemotherapy.

Through all of these immense treatments, surgery’s, appointments and testing my Dad Tom Prince has been by my mom’s side through all of this. Due to my mom needing so much care my father hasn’t been able to work since July of 2024.
