Hello friends and family. This is Emma and Joe Joe. We work with Jorge and Cozbi at Chick-fil-A. Jorge is Cozbi's son and they both are always filled with joy. One day I noticed both of them were down and it was abnormal, so I asked if they were okay. When Cozbi responded, she started tearing up and she told me her father had just passed away and that her husband was currently diagnosed with cancer. As the weeks went on, I would check in on both of them and things became worse as they mentioned the financial struggle they are facing.
The cancer that Mr. Sanchez has, is Retroperitoneal Liposarcoma. It is a rare type of cancer that grows in the fatty cells and mostly occurs in the abdomen, legs, or limbs. In this case they detected a mass on his abdominal area, and the surgery he will be getting is to remove the mass and hoping it hasn't spread anywhere else. His surgery is Wednesday October 21st. He will be recovering for about 2-3 months from surgery. This means he won't be able to work for a while, leaving a huge financial gap for the family as the main provider. Due to this, Cozbi, her husband and her three kids (age 22,11, and 4), are having to pick up and move from their house into an apartment. If any of you have had to move, you know that in itself is a traumatic event as a family. In addition, Cozbi and Jorge will be working to pay for bills, as well as take care of Mr. Sanchez, and the other two kids.
The Sanchez family is experiencing tragedy and through this GoFund Me we can help them financially. If we can come together and pay for one or two bills or even groceries for a few months, I know they will be incredibly grateful. I recently talked to Jorge and he told me that their hope is in Jesus and prayer is helping them have strength to continue. Please pray with us for them and if you feel led to help financially please do so. Thank you everyone!!
