Hope for Heather
I write this for my mom, with hope that it makes a difference.
Heather Barrett has spent her entire life spreading love into this world. Whether it be through the care she provides her patients, the ability to brighten a dark room with a smile, or her self-sacrificing nature to her family and those closest to her.
She has made a huge impact to families everywhere through her 27 years as a nurse working in the ER, ICU, as well as home-health. Even from the age of 12 to 18 spent 5,000 hours volunteering at the VA hospital and 10,000 total hours doing charitable events like Red Cross through her life.
On Wednesday, March 20th, 2019 mom was diagnosed with stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer with Metastasis to the lymph nodes.
This type of cancer is very aggressive, and its unpredictable how chemotherapy will affect it. With a high chance that if we do win, it may come back.
In this last year she lost her dad, fought to get off of pain medication from previous injuries, and moved away from her hometown to take care of our Aunt in Texas.
On top of this, we recently found out that her home health company will terminate her from her position. This is a result of her FMLA disability time running out while she currently undergoes chemotherapy waiting for her double mastectomy
Running out of options, we are looking at bankruptcy and donations to help cover the costs of her medical treatment, COBRA insurance, and basic necessities. With anything left over, we plan on donating the remaining funds to a charity to help others in similar need.We are asking for your support, thoughts, and prayers, and if possible a financial donation. Whatever you feel comfortable giving WILL make an impact, and WILL be appreciated gratefully.
Whatever amount is donated will be immensely helpful in the road ahead.
If you would be willing to share this with your friends and family by sharing the link posted below on Facebook or any other outlet, we will be forever grateful.
Lets get this nurse back on her feet so she can continue doing what she loves, being a nurse and helping others.
Thank you,
Andrew Barrett (Her son)
