Hi, my name is April , and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart after a traumatic experience that has turned my life upside down.

Recently, a fire broke out in my apartment—one that started Investigators told me it appeared to be an electrical fire caused by a USB cord plugged in near my daughter bed, but when I picked up the official report, they listed the cause as “undetermined.” I feel like my truth and safety were dismissed, and to make matters worse, my apartment complex has taken no responsibility and provided no assistance in helping me recover from this loss.

I lost everything—my home, clothes, furniture, electronics, important personal items, and most painfully, my sense of security. I did not have renters insurance. As a single mother, I was already struggling to keep up with the cost of living and couldn’t afford the extra monthly fee. Now, I'm left to start from the ground up with nothing. Because of the fire, I’ve also fallen behind on bills and rent. I’m trying to stay afloat while finding stability for me and my daughter. I’m not just asking for help—I’m praying for a hand up so I can breathe again and begin to rebuild our lives. These funds will go directly toward:
