Help Pug get Surgery

Donation protected
UPDATE: THANK YOU to EVERYONE WHO CONTRIBUTED!!!

DOC got his surgery and is home now resting with a good outlook!

Special thanks to his extended family, and all lovers of animals who contributed to make this possible.

Especially large THANK YOU to his grand-dog Baba who ensured the surgery went forward as planned to get him back on all four paws - she is, and always has been, a real life superhero and his biggest fan. We love you Baba!

All proceeds sub the original amount will go towards paying off the very substantial veterinary bill; otherwise, this fundraiser will end in the next few days to allow others to give to further causes.

Thank you humanity - unexpected win for once!

Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will bring hope to a family refusing to give up on their beloved companion.

Meet Doc.

Doc "Pug" Puggle is a 15 year old puggle (half-pug/half-beagle) rescued from a shelter in 2008 by his dog parents Max and Winter, and Pug has enjoyed a good family life since his rescue and adoption. Tragically, while going downstairs at the end of January, Pug slipped, jumped a step, and fractured his right leg badly, and causing a lot of pain and distress for him.

Follow up with the veterinarian and x-rays reveled the break to be significant surgery by an orthopedic surgeon to correct, or due to his age and the injury, to be euthanized (put down). As the later option is simply something Max and Win could not consider after rescuing and living for 15 years together with their friend and companion.

The cost of the surgery, after finding another orthopedic surgeon who was 50% of the original estimate, is still $6,500 to perform and requires a drive a few hours south for consultation prior. As the expense is frankly outside of the family's means, and the only other alternative being to kill their family member to alleviate his pain - which is a choice they are just not willing to make, not despite his age, but in spite of it. Not doing everything possible in this situation just isn't an option.

Despite the financial strain, they are determined to do whatever it takes to give Doc Pug the chance to continue being a beloved member of their family.

This is where your compassion and generosity come in.

If you've ever faced challenging decisions or witnessed a loved one, furry or not, in distress, you understand the weight of such moments. Your support, no matter the amount, can make a significant difference. A small contribution, be it $1, $5, or $10, when combined with others, could be the lifeline that enables Doc Pug to undergo the life-saving surgery he desperately needs.

And that would mean the world of difference to him, his parents, and the rest of his family - who despite his bad breath, loud barks, constant trash searching, obsession with stealing his brothers kennel and causing drama - love him very much, and still need him in their lives.

Doc Pug may be an old dog, but his zest for life and the love he brings to his family is immeasurable. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will not only help ease the financial burden but also bring hope to a family refusing to give up on their beloved companion.

In times of hardship, it's the collective power of community that can make the impossible, possible. Max, Winter, and Doc Pug are reaching out with gratitude, hoping you can join them on this journey to restore Doc Pug's health and happiness.

Please, donate today and be a part of the story that saves Doc Pug – a story of love, resilience, and the incredible bond we share with our furry family members.

All funds will go directly to the cost of the surgery - any additional funds generate over the target and cost of the surgery will be donated to Puget Sound Rescue (Animal Rescue).

So again - please, anything helps, no matter how big or small - and it may sound a little silly (over a dog, right?), but it would mean the world to this family.

Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and for making a difference in our lives.
