Bill Brimer was diagnosed initially with prostate cancer and had it removed in February. When it became clear that he was not getting better, a CAT was ordered and showed cancer in various parts of his body, and it was determined to be stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He has had one oncology treatment but had to be readmitted to JCMC with renal failure. Neither he nor Beth are working at this point and while they have reserve funds, at some point this will run out.
Many of you know Bill as the former wrestling coach at Greeneville High. He also helped coach football and taught math. More recently he was teaching math at Tusculum College. Many of you also know that Beth and Bill lost a son, Steven, to cancer 10 years ago. Through that trial, they stood strong in the faith in the Lord Jesus and with one another.
Here is a quote from Beth regarding Bill's diagnosis:
"As you can imagine this is not what we wanted to hear, however, having said that , we know that "God's got this". Our loving Heavenly Father has a plan. We can and we do trust Him. We are so humbled and blessed by your sweet words and prayers and encouragement. We are so thankful for you all. You ALL are so important to us. Yes, this is hard. Apparently God knows we can do hard- but only through His strength. He carried us through the loss of our son Steven, and He will carry us through battling the pancreatic monster as well. We will not stop pleading for a miracle either. My God can do that! Let's hold our heads up together and not miss what God wants to teach us through this,o.k. We are still just Pilgrims and this world is NOT my home. Bless you all."
Our community supported the Brimers in so many wonderful ways in the past. Let's do it again through our prayers, financial support. and meal train.
