Posttraumatic stress disorder

Hello, my name is Delaina Sievers. I am a Physician Assistant, having practiced mostly in emergency rooms for the past 23 years. I have post traumatic stress disorder with dissociation from physical abuse and rape as a child and adolescent. The abuse continued into adulthood. I had an event in February of this year in which I dissociated during a triggering event with male police officers. I had flashbacks of rape while they were trying to detain me, and I was wearing nothing but my underwear, and assaulted two of them. I am so sorry that this happened, but don’t remember the event. For those of you that don’t know what dissociation is, it’s like a daydream that you can’t snap out of like a war veteran, does when they hear a gunshot, or a loud noise. Now, I am charged with felony assault on an officer, and sadly I lost my PA license and my job because of it. I’ve been told that the only way I can get my PA license back is to do 30 to 60 days inpatient treatment for the PTSD. Cost is $19,500 for 30 days, and insurance will not cover it. I am asking for help to raise money for this and accruing bills due to my loss of employment. My current goal is $33,500. It’s a large goal, but anything at all makes a difference.
