Up In Smoke

I have a very good friend whose family escaped a house fire caused by a bearing in the furnace. Just so happens the son decided not to go to the gym that day and went home instead. When he pulled up he could hear the alarm and smell the smoke. Knowing his little sister is a very heavy sleeper, he entered the home yelling for her and feeling his way to her bedroom. Just as he suspected, she was in bed, asleep. He was able to safely get her out. Practically everything they own was effected by the smoke and needs cleaning/replacing. I'm sure you've heard enough insurance horror stories to know that they are not coming out ahead or remotely close to where they were. This just happened this last Monday, so everything is still very raw. I am trying to help them but what I am able to give falls very short of any real help. So I am hoping you can help. Truly anything is appreciated. Since I don't know what they need it the most for, I can't give you a run down of how it will be spent. The best I can do is to try to create a little cushion that alleviates at least some of the stress and overwhelment they are enduring. I am asking for any help you can offer, even if it is sharing the story. This is a woman who works her ass off for her family and gives to anyone she can in whatever way she can. Of anything..time, money, labor. She's incredible. She would be absolutely mortified if she knew I was doing this, so if you know who I am talking about, please be as discreet as possible.
