As some of you know, I got hit really hard with the situation with COVID (who hasn’t, I know...) Universal closed it’s gates and has no clearance for opening in sight. I’ve been furloughed at this point and I’m exhausting my unemployment just to survive bare bones.
What you may not know is that I left Los Angeles in June to be with my family in our home village of 1100 residents.
As a person who’s breathing is less than great as it is, re-locating to a tiny village that only had about 2 COVID cases since March, seemed like a smart idea at the time and it was! I’ve made my money go much further here in Illinois than it would have gone in Los Angeles and I’ve been able to quarantine with my family which means everything to me.
Now to the problem and why I need your help.
Getting back to Los Angeles is a problem. With no further stimulus, my money has gone towards my rent in Los Angeles and now some is going towards maintain my living here (just essentials... food, help with rent, wifi).
It’s a mess.
I had not planned on being in Illinois this long but as COVID cases rose in Los Angeles it just ended up being the smarter thing to do and then the election happened and everyone was terrified of civil unrest, myself included.
But now I’m stuck in Illinois and renting a vehicle to travel back with my dogs and my stuff is going to run me $500-$1000 dollars just to come home and that leaves me with no car once I return. I’m more interested in this point at buying myself a cheap vehicle because I am without a car in my life (COVID aside) and it has been sorely needed for some time.
While in Illinois, I can get a decent vehicle for much, MUCH cheaper than I would in Los Angeles but I’m finding saving for it to be near impossible and so... here I am.
Giving this a shot...To get my life on track and to get home to Los Angeles. I could fly but flying won’t enable me to easily bring back my stuff or my pets and that creates another problem entirely.
So, I’m at the mercy of help from others aand I’m sorry to even have to be asking in times as hard as these. I know that these days that a car seems like a luxury for most but for me, it’s the difference between being stranded and stuck in Illinois and coming home to Los Angeles. And I’m not even asking for a new or NICE car, just a drive able used car.
So, in closing, I want to thank you for reading and thank you for any help that you may lend. It’s greatly appreciated and will help me get home!
