Please help my family

Dear friends, 


If you know me, you know asking for help is very hard for me. I have kept quiet about my situation for a while because I take pride in my family and didn't want share what's been going on in our home because I was embarrassed. For those of you who don’t know me, my husband and I have two adopted foster children whom we adopted at ages 10 and 6 and then six of our own children.  Until alcohol took over my husband’s life, we had been a solid family. 



My husband, though, who was taking meds for PTSD, turned to Alcohol as a means of escaping. This has been going on for a while and as much as I tried to help him, he was adamant about continuing to drink. Without going into too much detail, our marriage took a turn for the worse. When I began talking about separating, he moved all of our marital money moved from our checking account to one I can't touch. He then filed for divorce leaving me without money for my own lawyer, and he refuses to leave the home. The control he’s put over me has been hell and this is not a secure environment for the kids. There's so much more I would like to share, but just can’t.

 

I tried hard for a free lawyer only to be told there was no funding for me. I have now found a lawyer but need to at least come up with a $6,000  retainer fee so that I can at least make sure I have a say in what happens to me and my children.
