Support Scott Wilson's Fight Against Stage 4 Colon Cancer

Donation protected
As most of you know, in November 2022, our brother, Scott was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer. In January 2023, Dr. Anthony Dakwar of Roswell Park Cancer Institute removed a football sized tumor from Scott’s abdomen. At the time follow-ups showed that the cancer had not spread and that Scott was in the clear.

Over the next six months Scott regained his strength and put back on most of the nearly 80 pounds he lost prior to the surgery. During his six month follow up, at which Scott was expecting to get the go ahead to go back to work and resume his normal life, blood work indicated that the cancer may have returned.

A follow up colonoscopy confirmed that not only had the original tumor returned but that the cancer had spread to his lung and liver. As of August 2023, the cancer had progressed to Stage 4. Surgery was not an option; therefore, chemotherapy began immediately.

Scott began bi-weekly chemotherapy in September 2023. In November, after the initial 4 rounds of chemo, scans showed excellent progress in shrinking the lesions on his liver and lung. Again, in January 2024, scans showed significant progress - with the tumor in his lung almost gone completely. This continued through October 2024. The treatment seemed to be working with minimal side effects.

However, in November 2024 there was an increase in Scott’s blood markers and follow up scans showed that the tumors on his liver had begun to grow again. This means that a new course of chemo is needed, and this new course will hit much harder than the last.

Scott is preparing to begin this new course of treatment. He has kept a positive attitude through everything. With the support of his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends, he is preparing for one heck of a fight. The road ahead is uncertain and his disease is incurable, but Scott is a fighter. We hope and pray that he is back out on the golf course come Spring/Summer!

At this point Scott is on permanent disability and unable to work. We are hoping to help offset his medical & living expenses, as well as provide him the ability to live out some bucket list adventures.

Please say a prayer for Scott and our family. Life is short, sometimes shorter than we ever expected. Hold your loved ones close. Tell them you love them. Take the trips. Make the memories. Live your life to the fullest. You never know what tomorrow holds.

On behalf of our brother Scott, I want to thank you all for your love, support & prayers.

We will be holding a benefit for Scott from 2-6pm on Saturday March 29, 2025 at The Grill at the Dome in Tonawanda. Details will be forthcoming. We hope to see many of you there!
