Laura Pocock, loving mother, confidant, friend, and a devoted humanitarian, passed away on September 15, 2018. As a pillar of the North Carolina community, she founded and fundraised for the Kidsenses Children Museum, helped to protect the Blue Ridge Mountains with the Carolina Mountain Conservatory, worked with those also struggling with addiction at the Pavillon Rehabilitation Center, amongst many other things. She felt most at home when she was volunteering her time to those in need. All of those fortunate enough to cross her path can attest to the contagious light she carried with her, which shone so brilliantly, it extinguished all to soon for those who loved her. She was a legend of a woman, never to be forgotten. We are holding a service for her on September 24, 2018 in Rutherfordton, NC at the First Methodist Church at 1:00 P.M. All are welcome to come and pay their respects. Her four daughters, Caroline, Sarah, Meaghan, and Emily will be incurring the costs of the funeral and are respectfully asking their communities for any financial help they are able to offer. In this difficult time, we wish money could be the least of our priorities, but there is a cost to death as there is one to living. We greatly appreciate even the smallest donation, and invite people to leave comments and pictures of their favorite memories of Laura Beth.
With Great Love,
Meaghan, Caroline, Sarah, and Emily
