Appleby House Fire Relief Fund
Donation protected
On August 10, Caren & Christopher Appleby’s home caught fire, resulting in extensive damage and a significant loss of personal belongings. The fire was so severe that all Fairfield Fire Department’s units responded. (FFFD posted about it here on Facebook .) Unfortunately, the home was “red tagged,” so Caren & Christopher can’t stay there for the time being.
Thankfully, Caren & Christopher (and their cats & dogs) are safe.
But the fire was an incredibly heartbreaking setback for Caren & Christopher, who are still reeling from the recent passing of Matt Appleby (Caren’s husband & Christopher’s dad) in May.
As Caren’s brother, I invite you to join me in financially and emotionally supporting Caren & Christopher during this difficult time.
Funds will go directly to Caren to meet her family’s immediate needs while insurance gets sorted out and to support her next steps.
They will be staying in a hotel funded by insurance until their insurer can find them a furnished rental, which will be funded by insurance as well. Caren will still have to make regular mortgage and bill payments in the meantime.
If you want to donate clothing:
- Christopher wears size 32 pants, men’s large shirts, and size 10 shoes; and
- Caren wears size 18/20 pants and size 20/22 shirts (she has shoes).
If you prefer to send a gift card, they shop at Walmart and Target.
Please send any mail and packages to: Caren Appleby, PO Box 97, Fairfield, CA 94533.
Any donation is appreciated.
