In March of 2025, our mom suffered a devastating stroke. What followed were ten long weeks moving between Kaiser and multiple nursing facilities before she was finally able to come home in May.
While she has remained physically stable, she is now facing rapidly progressing dementia and is currently on hospice care. The changes have been heartbreaking, but one thing remains clear: she is most comfortable and at peace in her own home.
We are incredibly grateful to have a wonderful team of caregivers who provide 24/7 support and treat her with compassion and dignity. Their care allows her to remain surrounded by the familiar sights, sounds, and memories that bring her comfort.
However, the cost of round-the-clock home care is approximately $7,000 per month. My brother Michael and I have exhausted all other sources of income and have been covering these expenses out of pocket. We are committed to keeping our mom at home for as long as possible, but we can no longer sustain this alone.
We are asking for help to give her the gift of staying in her home, in a place she loves, during this chapter of her life.
Any contribution, no matter the size, means more than we can express. If you are unable to give, sharing this page is also deeply appreciated.
Thank you for supporting our family and helping us provide our mom with comfort, dignity, and love at home.
With gratitude,
Paul & Michael
