Whitney is a Richmond Police Officer. On November 9, 2025, her life changed forever. She was on duty, in her patrol vehicle, when she was t-boned at a very high/dangerous rate of speed by a driver who had run a red light; she was hit directly in her driver’s side door. The force of the impact literally crushed Whitney’s lower half and pinned her between her door and center console. Whitney instantly sustained several life-threatening injuries and had to undergo emergency surgery after being extricated from the vehicle using the “jaws of life”.
Whitney suffered a traumatic pelvic injury that required surgery and 6 large screws to attach all parts of her pelvis back together. She spent 18 days in the hospital after her injury, and then another 15 days in an inpatient physical rehabilitation facility. She had to work every day just to learn how to stand, move, and walk again. She is now continuing her recovery at home, but still has to rely on a wheelchair and walker just to get around. She will be in physical therapy for several more months, if not longer.
Everyday tasks that used to be effortless are now painful, exhausting, and challenging, and as you can imagine, this has completely changed her life.
Due to this injury, Whitney is obviously unable to work. She is fighting every day to get back on her feet — physically and emotionally. She is determined to heal, return to her career, and get back to the life she loves. But she should not have to do it alone.
Due to legalities and insurance politics (which we are not at liberty to go into detail here), Whitney is now facing a huge mountain of medical bills and personal bills. Despite her hesitancy, her friends have started this GoFundMe to ask for help for her.
Please consider a small donation to help her in this time. Her bills should be the last thing she needs to worry about! If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser — it truly makes a difference.
**Any money not needed to strictly help her cover her bills and stay financially afloat will be donated to:

Thank you for helping support Whitney during this incredibly difficult time.
