Christian's Recovery Fund

As some of you may know, our son Christian was in a very horrible accident this Friday March 11th. On his way home from college to start spring break, a reckless driver veered toward him. Christian did all he could but ultimately couldn't control his vehicle & careened off I-40 hitting three trees at about 8 ft in the air, subsequently losing consciousness. So many miracles happened to protect his body from what was finally left as a mangled mess of a vehicle. He was life-flighted to UT Medical Center. Against ALL odds, his body was ok but his brain has been pretty banged up. Brain bleed and bruising plus w/ massive concussion. After monitoring him for two nights they let us bring him home to Nashville. He mostly sleeps. When it first happened he couldn't formulate words but he has gotten somewhat better. Mostly he's tremendously confused and when he talks, it's like he's dreaming but awake. It's like his brain is trying to put pieces back together. His brain tells him to stand up and walk but his body isn't thoroughly catching on. He wants to talk about things but it's like the concepts are fragmented in his head.  We truly think that ultimately he's going to be ok but he needs a lot of time. And the more sleep the better!

I thought it would be fun to pull together a GoFundMe as a crazy surprise for him when he snaps out of this and realizes what happened.. and honestly how truly lucky he and we all are. His car is done, kaput. Obviously we've been in touch with the insurance company but I thought it would be so incredibly cool to pull him together a fund to help put more toward a next SAFE vehicle (incidentally huge props to Jeep for having a metal frame that kept our boy alive) and for who knows what else when he's better & thinking straight again.

He makes me smile thinking how freaked out he might be by this when he puts it all together and sees all the love!
