Help Hannah's Recovery
Donation protected
My 21-year-old cousin Hannah Halaska is THE sweetest and kindest human I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. She lights up any room she's in with her gentle soul and happy outlook on life. She was only just getting started... when an inconceivable medical emergency brought everything to a standstill.
A junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Hannah was thrilled to spend the spring semester abroad in London, England. She spent her time studying, interning, hanging out with friends, and seeing the world. Until one day she had a terrible headache and started slurring her words. She was taken to a hospital, where she suffered a seizure and doctors discovered that she had a brain bleed, caused by a blood clot. As she underwent two emergency surgeries to stop the bleeding, her Wisconsin family flew overseas and waited desperately for two weeks to know if she would survive.
Hannah has finally been taken off sedation, oxygen, and a feeding tube and we are all so thankful that Hannah is now breathing and eating on her own! However, she still has a long road to recovery before her, as she works to regain her speech and movement. She will not be able to safely travel back to the United States for the foreseeable future. Her loving parents Chris and Jennifer are in London, supporting her through every step of her recovery. But the mounting medical and travel expenses required to get her through this ordeal (and eventually bring her home) are quickly becoming overwhelming.
Please consider donating to help fund Hannah's recovery. Please help this sweet, kind soul get her life back on track.
