Urgent: Help Rebuild Lives in Kerr County After Catastrophic Texas Floods
We are raising funds to purchase crucial supplies for individuals, families, and businesses who have been devastated by the unprecedented Kerr County, Texas floods of July 4th. The impact of these floods has been catastrophic, with a current death toll of at least 120 lives lost, and over 160 people still missing. This community is facing an immense and heartbreaking challenge.
About Us & Our Mission
Who We Are: My name is Melissa Spencer, and I am the team leader of The Spencer Team. We are a top-producing team of dedicated real estate agents.
Where We're From: Our team is based in Montgomery County, Texas. While we are not residents of Kerr County, we are fellow Texans who have been profoundly moved by the devastation and feel a deep call to serve our neighbors in their time of need.
Our Relationship to Those We're Helping: We are not directly related to the flood victims, but we are committed community members driven by compassion to provide direct aid to individuals, families, and organizations in Kerr County who have been severely impacted. Our relationship is one of concerned Texans stepping up to support a community in crisis. We are establishing direct lines of communication and partnership with local relief efforts to ensure funds reach those most in need.
How Your Donations Will Be Spent: While we are still solidifying all connections to determine the exact quantities and locations for supply distribution, we want to assure you that every penny you donate will be used directly to purchase essential supplies for those affected. The needs are vast and constantly evolving, but based on current assessments and direct communication with those on the ground, critical items include:
Immediate Needs:
Clean drinking water
Toilet paper and various toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products)
Diapers and baby formula
Pet food and supplies (bowls, leashes)
Non-perishable food items
Cleanup & Recovery Supplies:
Building materials (drywall, lumber, insulation, roofing supplies)
Heavy-duty cleaning supplies (bleach, mops, buckets, rags)
Tools (shovels, hammers, rakes)
Personal Protective Equipment (work gloves, N95 masks, sturdy boots)
Tarps and sandbags
Support for Displaced Families:
Gift cards for immediate needs like clothing and personal items
Assistance with temporary housing solutions
Basic household essentials (bedding, towels)
School supplies for children whose families have lost everything
Our Goal: To purchase and deliver these critical items directly to individuals, families, and local organizations on the ground who are providing aid. We will prioritize working with established local churches and community centers that are serving as shelters and distribution hubs, such as Camp CAMP (Children's Association for Maximum Potential), First United Methodist Church (Kerrville), and Cross Kingdom Church (Kerrville). This ensures that supplies get into the hands of those who need them most efficiently and effectively.
Accountability: We are committed to full transparency. We will provide regular updates on this GoFundMe page, including photos and stories from the ground, showing the supplies being purchased and distributed. We will also share receipts for major purchases to demonstrate how your generous donations are being utilized. Funds will be managed by Melissa Spencer and dispersed strictly for the purpose of purchasing and delivering relief supplies to Kerr County.
Our Action Plan
Today (July 11th): A dedicated portion of our team leaving tomorrow morning for Kerr County. They are heading directly to Camp CAMP, a vital facility that serves individuals with disabilities and has been significantly impacted. Our team members are equipped with chainsaws and a variety of tools to assist directly in their immediate cleanup and rebuilding efforts. Helping Camp CAMP get back on its feet means ensuring continued vital services for the disabled community.
Ongoing Connection: We are actively connecting with local churches that have bravely served as shelters for families who have lost their homes. We're also in constant communication with several trusted friends who are currently serving on the ground, gathering real-time information on the most urgent and evolving needs.
Full Team Deployment (July 25th): Our entire team will be heading to Kerr County on July 25th to deliver the supplies purchased with your donations and to provide hands-on help with cleanup and rebuilding efforts.
The need in Kerr County is enormous, and the road to recovery will be long. Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a tangible difference in the lives of those who have lost so much.
Please donate today and share this campaign widely to help us bring hope and practical assistance to the Texas flood victims.
Thank you for your compassion and support.
Sincerely,
Melissa Spencer & The Spencer Team
