Hi, y’all! So, as some of you know? Dad has what’s called a Diaphragmatic hernia. His doctor told him it was incredibly rare, and thus the hunt for help began. His organs are pressing against his heart and lungs- making it incredibly complex. He’s had multiple ER and hospital visits over the last few years before he finally discovered the cause just over a month ago. Just over a week ago, while waiting for his surgery? He was deemed unable to work due to the erratic heart rate and other side effects from his organs pushing on his more vital ones. We’ve sold what we can (tractor, zero turn, etc). They’ve placed their house they were building up for sale. But his loss of income is huge, as it’s the majority of what pays the every day bills. Unfortunately, his job doesn’t offer a paid short term disability, and while waiting for the VA to see if they’ll cover any disability in the future? They will be in dire, dire straits very quickly. We FINALLY have a pre-op date, and will hopefully be in a week after that. However, he’s facing up to a year off work due to healing time. As the surgery is deeply complicated. If you can help them at all? It would mean the world. Even if it’s just sending them some love ❤️
