Ecuador Earthquake Relief

Donation protected
A 7.8 magnitude earthquake shook my current host country, Ecuador, on Saturday evening, leaving 500+ people dead and thousands injured, numbers that are rising by the hour. Ecuador is tiny, and almost everyone has been affected in one way or another. My friends, roommate, and students all have families on the coast, where the damage is the worst.

Food, clothing, and water all need to be sent to the coast immediately. Donating money to a charity organization, especially one in another country, can be dicey, so I'm personally collecting money for relief efforts. Any money you send to this account will go to me, and I will purchase whatever I can and make sure it gets into the right hands here in Ecuador.

A few US dollars goes a long way in Ecuador; five gallons of clean water is about $1.50. Please help this country and its affected people, for whom resources are expensive and limited. It would mean a lot!

*I am now teamed up with a local organization, Actuemos Ecuador, whose members are heading to Manabi provence this weekend to assess damage and the specific supplies they will need to help relief efforts in the coming weeks. Next week I will meet with them and discuss how this money can be best used.
