Meet Lisa, a local Corrections Officer who was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer.

Lisa had breast cancer five years ago and it has now metastasized (spread) to the lungs. She went back for a check-up in December, 2024 and doctors found a nodule in her lung. She underwent partial lobectomy in February, 2025 and is currently on a course of chemotherapy. Lisa has used all of her PTO and FMLA. She is back to work, but because of the effects of this chemo, she is finding it very hard. She has to work in order to keep her insurance. If she quits, she will need to apply for COBRA and we all know how expensive that would be. We, as her work family, would like to raise money to make it easier for Lisa. Needless to say, her prognosis is not what we want. But, Lisa being Lisa, has a mantra - NOT today Satan!
