chelsea's fundraiser for Dementia Australia
Heyeverybody,
My name is Chelsea and I am going to be shaving my head to raise money for Dementia Australia and I would love your support!
What is dementia?
Dementia is a a term used to describe an impaired ability to remember, think or make decisions that interferes with everyday activities. Dementia Australia represents the estimated 472,000 Australians living with dementia and the almost 1.6 million Australians involved in their care.
My grandad.
Early this year I lost my grandad to Dementia he had been fighting early-onset dementia he also had Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) which is where the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain are lost FTD can also affect behaviour, personality, language and movement.
I love my grandad and miss him so much. I have many memories about my grandad but If I had to pick a special one it would be the sneaking the chocolate from the kitchen to the bedroom without nan finding out although I think she knew all along! He was taken from this world too soon but I know now that he is in a peaceful place eating all the chocolate he can!
What you can do to help!
Your fundraising will directly support those living with dementia, their families and carers. With your support Dementia Australia provides a range of services to the community including:
Assisting many in a time of need with our education seminars, workshops and programs.
National Dementia
