Hi friends and family! I am writing this today to seek some assistance for my niece Korina. She was recently diagnosed with Bicoronal Craniosynostosis. In her case she will need to have surgery and the surgeon that we have selected is in Los Angeles. With the cost of surgery, the time loss from work and travel cost I really want to help my sister and her husband cover some of the cost. I am starting this go fund me page for any assistance if possible. We all know that times are tough so any little thing will help.
Text from my sister (Kara)
Good evening everyone sorry for messaging so late but I wanted to make sure everyone is aware of what is happening with Korina.
Korina had been seen by a neurosurgeon on the 19th of this month. The physician said that she believes Korina has bicoronal craniosynostosis ( this is when the sutures in her skull bond close to early not allowing room for the brain to be able to grow due to the skull not being able to open as it should this can cause pressure to her brain which can lead to serious complications down the road or more sever death if not token care of)she believed there would be a 95% chance she will need surgery on her head to fix the issue.
Well the bad news came today after her CT scan. Korina does have bicoronal craniosynostosis and will have to under go surgery. The good news is that this is something that can be fixed and caught at a young age so there is nothing life threatening. We just ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers and help us to be strong as this is very hard for us. I love you all❤️
