On November 21st, my good friend and colleague, April, received the unexpected and devastating news that her father had passed away suddenly and traumatically.

On top of this difficult time, as next of kin, she is now under unexpected financial obligations that she must meet including cremation payments, travel costs (as she lives out of province), legal obligations, and are also in need of money to help cover their own bills as they take time to grieve and process this loss.

She is his only child therefore the legal repercussions, physical labour, and financial burdens are falling to her.

April is one of the most caring, devoted, and kind-hearted people who will give support to others whenever she can. I'd love for us to be able to give her that same care and support back tenfold so that she can grieve properly.
