Olivia's Conservation Expedition!

Hello friends, family and kind strangers,
I am Olivia and I am currently trying to raise a huge amount of money to be able to go on life changing trip this summer. I am going on a 4 week conservation expedition in Honduras as a research assistant with an organisation called Operation Wallacea.
Operation Wallacea (Opwall) is an organisation that runs a series of biological and conservation management research programmes in remote locations across the world. These expeditions are designed with specific wildlife conservation aims in mind – from identifying areas needing protection, through to implementing and assessing conservation management programmes.
A network of academics from European and North American universities design and implement biodiversity and conservation management research programmes which not only improve the state of the local wildlife but also help to sustain local communities living alongside them. Their research is supported by students who join the programme, to strengthen their CV or resume, gain course credit, or collect data for a dissertation or thesis.
I am hoping to be one of these reseach assistants! I will be spending 2 weeks in the jungle of Cusuco National Park, learning how to sample and collect data on local wildlife and plants and 2 weeks on the cost of Tela, learning how to dive and collect data underwater! This will give me invaluable experience for my future as a research zoologist.
All money raised will go towards paying for my expedition costs - including my kit, flights and a substantial fee which goes straight to the organisation itself to fund their programmes. I have set a bunch of fitness challenges that I have to complete if you donate specific amounts. However, feel free to set your own challenge for me (within reason) when you donate.
This is not only a great cause but also a fantastic oppertunity for me. The money I hope to recieve will help to give me a career in conservation (my greatest passion) and will aid this brilliant orgainisation. This trip will not be easy, but I have decided to follow my dreams and go back in to education, in order to make them a reality. Going on this trip would be like taking one step closer to achieving my goal and it means the world to me.
