Preserving a Legacy: Barry “Basajear” Johnson’s Photographic
Spende geschützt
I’m Barry Johnson—some know me as Basajear—a Northwest Ontario Métis social documentary photographer based in Vancouver. For nearly a decade, I’ve documented the life and spirit of the Commercial Drive and Broadway communities.
Sadly, I’m now facing advanced brain cancer, and I hope to see my final photography book printed and a collection of my best photos printed and mounted while I still have the strength. Time is running out, and I need help covering the costs of ink, paper, mounting and framing to preserve this work. Preparations are underway to submit my photography to the Vancouver Archives - that's very exciting, please help me see this dream a reality.
These images are my legacy. Any support—no matter how small—means the world to me.

Thank you for helping me keep this story alive.
