Help Clean Our Waters!

My name is Hector Pardoe and I’m a Tokyo 2020 Olympic marathon open water swimmer who has been competing on the international stage for the last 8 years. I’ve experienced first hand the implications polluted water has on our ability to swim in open water, most recently with the cancellation of the Paris Olympic test event in the river Seine, not to mention that I have been a vegetarian athlete all my life. Therefore I am extremely passionate about proactively fighting to conserve the environment in which we Live, Breath and SWIM.

As part of my attempt to break the current WORLD RECORD for the fastest time to cross Lake Windermere, I will be completing the swim in support of the Lake District Foundation to aid in clean up programmes and prevention solutions across all the lakes in the district. Please donate anything you can and together we can make a difference.

ABOUT THE LAKE DISTRICT FOUNDATION: Our vision is that the Lake District will be an inspirational example of sustainable development in action, and a place where a prosperous economy, world-class visitor experiences and vibrant communities come together to sustain its spectacular landscape, wildlife and cultural heritage.

The Lake District Foundation will achieve this vision by raising funds and distributing them to effective projects that share our goals.
