Hi, My name is Patricia, most know me as Patti.

I'm here asking for help, and to be 100% honest, setting up a gofundme is my last resort. For me to be doing this means that I am desperate.

In January of this year (2024), I was diagnosed with stage4 uterine and ovarian cancer.

Luckily, after undergoing a radical hysterectomy and the removal of a football sized cancerous tumour, the outlook is good.

I am now undergoing an extensive and aggressive course of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

I have worked in tesco youghal for over 20 years, but this now means I am on sick leave until December.

And this is why I am setting up this gofund me.

I receive €232.00 per week illness benefit.

My rent alone is €208 per week. (Including HAP payment)

This is leaving me €24.00 per week to try and pay all my other bills and buy food etc.

As such, I have fallen behind on car payments and household bills like Internet, esb, and heating.

Paying off these arrears and keeping electricity in my home and trying to get ahead of my rent so I can have some breathing space around finances is what any donations received will be going towards.

I've set my target at €1000 cause I know times are tough for everyone and I don't want to seem greedy or entitled but if I go above the target that would be great and anything that I don't use for paying bills I will donate to local charities.

I will happily provide receipts of where the donations are going to those who want them.
