Family Home Destroyed by Fire
Spende geschützt
Messages from friends and family:
On Feb 23, in the very early morning, my sister Elizabeth was asleep in her home and was awakened by glass breaking. She thought someone was trying to break into her house and ran safely out the door calling 911. It was not a break in. The house was ablaze. Fireman did what they could but the house was destroyed. Thankfully her children, Quinn & Rowan, were with their dad that night but Elizabeth’s precious cat, Pichi, died of smoke inhalation. The house was Elizabeth’s pride and joy and her safe place…she lived there for less than 2 years. We have created this GoFundMe to help with the overwhelming expenses that she is facing while we are hoping the house can be rebuilt. Home owners insurance is expected to cover a lot but likely not anywhere near enough. Anything you can donate, would be accepted with extreme gratitude. Some of her family and friends have assisted me in describing Elizabeth, the boys and this devastating loss - Amy
Liz is a very kind and thoughtful woman. She worked hard to provide a good home for her boys. She would be the first person to offer help to others in a similar situation. Liz deserves all the help we can give. - Carol
Elizabeth is a devoted sister, mother, and human who showers her tribe with boundless love and tenderness, embodying generosity and kindness in every gesture she makes. Her nurturing spirit and selflessness create a warm and compassionate atmosphere wherever she goes. Elizabeth has always remained true to her spirit. Most of us will say “if you knew me 20 years ago you don’t know me anymore” - but the best and most important parts of who she is, have always remained a constant. - Johnny, Laurie, Nathan, Nicki, Amanda, and Emma
I got a call from Elizabeth at 4:30AM and wondered what was going on as I answered. Calls at that time of day are almost never good. Of course, she was upset and my heart was broken for her pain. I was relieved that she got out unharmed and that her boys had not been there. As a parent, I saw how hard she had worked to get to this place in her life, to have a house where she could live with her boys. To have a place to make a home for them. Now it is all gone. Those possessions are just things that need to be replaced and the real treasure is that everyone is safe. There is the heartache of loss of their pet cat and loss of possessions, but rebuilding to take place in the future must seem at this point like an almost overwhelming prospect. - Dad
My daughter Elizabeth is such a sweet and beautiful spirit. I love her beyond words. She worked so hard to provide a nice home for her boys. This tragedy has taken every material thing she owned. We are so thankful she and the boys are ok. We know her pain of losing a beloved pet. Now she needs our help. To rebuild a house will no doubt take more than insurance money. Whatever you can do will be appreciated so much. - Mom
Elizabeth has worked more diligently than anyone I've ever known to be a positive light in the world and to support her family. She has succeeded in enriching so many lives and had created a safe loving home for her boys and their sweet cat. While we can celebrate that Elizabeth and the boys survived this fire physically unharmed, we can also mourn the great loss of a beloved pet and a lifetime's worth of possessions and also acknowledge the deep emotional scars that all the of them will carry. No one deserves this kind of tragedy, but Elizabeth and her boys do deserve whatever generosity comes their way in this time of loss. -Courtney
My aunt has always been such a role model and support for me and my heart aches for her loss. Thank you for any help you can offer to help her and my cousins. -Kayla
Elizabeth “Liz” has worked with me for over 20 years in the jewelry industry. She is very down to earth, and is like another daughter to my wife and I. She worked very hard to save her money to be able to buy this house. She was excited to make a home for her and her children in Beech Grove. - Frank and Mary Mascari
