Help a Veteran Hero fight Brain Cancer
Donation protected
I want to introduce to you a 35-year-old hero named Austin Lupercio.
Austin is the type of person that you instantly become best friends with. He would give the shirt off his back to a stranger. He is hardworking, caring, genuine, funny, and so many more amazing things.
Austin served in the Army for five years and did two tours, one in Korea and the other in Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2006 to 2008. Austin was part of the 543 Military Policy Company. He was stationed in Fort Drum, NY, and was part of the 10th Mountain Division. He retired at the rank of a Sergeant.
After his service, he met the love of his life Amanda. They have been married for five wonderful years.
They both have such a strong love of family that they could not wait to start the journey themselves by filling their home with children of their own. Unfortunately, after years of trying and very costly treatments, they had yet to become parents.
In early August 2016, it seemed there was light at the end of the tunnel to start the family they had always had hoped for. They were overjoyed with the news that they were finally pregnant, and with twins. It had always been their biggest dream in life to become parents and it was finally coming true. However, on December 30, 2016, they were devastated with the news that they were losing their twins. They delivered stillborn twin boys Declan and Kody Lupercio, whom will forever be in their hearts.
Austin and Amanda were ready to try again the following year, and were hopeful when Amanda became pregnant. They lost the baby this past Easter.
One would think that this poor couple would have already had their fair share of devastation, but there is yet another challenge they are now facing. On November 27, 2018, doctors found a mass in Austin’s brain that is inoperable. He has been diagnosed with a rare and highly aggressive brain cancer, Glioblastoma (GBM). Even though the symptoms just began one week prior to the 27th, he is Stage 4. They informed Amanda and Austin that even with treatment, he has about a 1% chance survival rate.
Austin’s response, “Someone has to be that 1%, and it looks like it is going to have to be me”.
With the tumor growing in size quickly, teams of doctors have come together with a plan. Friday December 7th, they will start a high intense chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Austin has always a positive person, even in this horrific situation. He somehow is still keeping in good spirits and is accepting whatever God’s plan holds for him.
His only fear right now is how they are going to pay for all of this, and that is why I am asking all of you for help. We just want his focus on beating this this horrible disease. To be the 1%.
Please help us fight this battle for Austin and Amanda, and give them a chance to have the future together they have always wanted.
All the donations will be going 100% to Austin’s care.
