Help my husband beat cancer
My husband, Tim Storey, has been diagnosed with malignant large cell carcinoma stage 4 lung cancer (lymphoma).
At the end of June 2025, we went to St. Dominic's emergency room with difficulty breathing, where a CT showed 3 enlarged lymph nodes in the lungs. Doctors wanted to do a biopsy. The biopsy came back showing lung cancer with a right pulmonary embolism. He was discharged on Eliquis, then 5 days later, he had his first major stroke. The surgeon was able to remove the blockage from the right side of the brain. The doctors and medical staff were amazed at his improvement and said, according to the MRI, he shouldn’t be able to do what he is doing. I said this is the Lord’s work! He was discharged 1 week later on Xarelto. Then, 6 days after discharge, he had a 2nd major stroke, and the surgeon was able to remove the blockage on the left side of the brain. This stroke was much worse, requiring him to remain on a ventilator for two days (now having difficulty with swallowing). He again amazed the doctors and medical staff with his ability to move all extremities and communicate very well. We are very lucky to have him with us. Again, this is the Lord’s work. After another week in the hospital, he was discharged on Lovenox injections twice a day to prevent any more strokes. Praying this will keep him from having any more strokes. We’re told this cancer is aggressive, causing blood clots, which has caused the two strokes. After meeting with the oncologist on July 28, we learned that the cancer has spread to multiple areas in his body, giving him possibly 6 months.
As our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, we refuse to accept this timeframe. The oncologist said she wanted him to start chemotherapy and immunotherapy ASAP; however, the first available appointment is not until August 12th.
The cancer and two strokes have caused his disability, leaving him very weak and with several medical conditions.
We have seen other doctors, and due to the severity of his condition, we have been recommended to a doctor who will be able to start treatment ASAP as the cancer continues to cause more sickness and pain.
My husband and I are strong believers and have faith in our Lord and His ability to heal. Those that know my husband, Tim, know he is a fighter and is one of the most loving, caring, gracious, and giving men I know. I am very thankful our Lord brought us together over 14 years ago.
This cancer is trying to take him down. He has gone from getting around strong to extremely weak in less than 3 weeks. I know there is a cure for cancer, and we have faith in the Lord that His will be done! I’m constantly praying, watching, and making sure he’s okay and doesn’t have another stroke. My husband is a fighter, and I know we can beat this cancer!
Our lives have forever changed in a matter of 3 weeks. We’re still at a loss at times, but we’re not going to let this cancer win!
This has been one of the most humbling experiences we’ve had to endure, and it’s heartbreaking to see him suffer, knowing there is help available. We appreciate any help and support to be able to start treatment and get on the road to recovery.
All donations will go towards his treatment to beat his cancer.
All donations will go towards his treatments.
Tim and I want to thank you for your support and prayers.
