Aaron's Medical and Living Expenses
There's no good time to find out you have cancer. A diagnosis is one of those life events that will forever mark a "before" and an "after". For Aaron, a medical speech-language pathologist who worked in acute care throughout the pandemic, a clinical supervisor dedicated to the training of graduate students and a doctoral student completing his third year of study towards his PhD, yielding his trajectory to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma was not in the plan.
Aaron's very recent diagnosis means an uncertain immediate future. Over the next few weeks, he will undergo testing, more in-depth surgical biopsying and multiple consultations to determine a treatment plan. While the course of treatment and prognosis remains unknown, the emotional, physical, and financial toll has already begun. Aaron's only income at this time is his Graduate Employee stipend, which is minimal and does not cover his monthly living expenses. We also know that Aaron's deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums for diagnosis and treatment are already higher than he can afford.
Many have reached out for ways to support Aaron during this uncertainty. This fund will go directly towards Aaron's medical and living expenses to alleviate financial stress so he can focus on diagnostics, treatments and healing.
Aaron has respectfully asked that friends do not reach out directly to offer support at this time as it's difficult for him to respond while he is processing so much new information. Please leave well wishes and notes on this page and he will read them when he needs to feel your love and support!
