Family Fire Relief Fund
On the night of September 27, 2022, we awoke to our homes burning down. We are so blessed that our entire family was able to escape safely. Our property consists of two houses, one of which is occupied by myself (Iesha Griffin), my fiance (DiJon), and our two boys (Cole & Jewlz). My mother (Cara) and my little twin brothers (Hawke & Ridge) occupy the second house. The fire started in the bedroom of my mother's home as everyone was sleeping, and by God's grace, flames and smoke woke up my 4-year-old brother. He was able to alert and wake my mother up, who in turn grabbed both of the boys and woke us up. We immediately realized that this fire was not one that we could contain. It had quickly burned most of the back house, and was simultaneously making its way to our front house and neighbors' house. The damages were unimaginable. We are so grateful to Austin Fire Department for responding so quickly!
The fire caused the majority of the back house to collapse and left it completely exposed. Few items in the house are salvageable. My mother and my little brothers have lost everything they own.
The front house has been deemed unusable and unsafe at this time. We are all relocating to a safe space while we try to figure out what's next for our family.
The costs of this tragedy are greater than any of us anticipated.
We are asking for donations for immediate needs, especially those of my mother and brothers, who could only escape with the clothes on their backs. We would greatly appreciate any prayers or donations you may be willing to offer.
