On 28 June 2017, my daughter, Joyce came to help us pick squash ,which we ( Roy Cook and I ) sell at the Summerville SC Farmers Market. (We have had a space there for 20 years ("Dorchester Farms". ) When she and I finished, she asked if there were anything else I needed done. I asked her to help me pull a tarp over a camper. Unforuntately we couldn't get it over the top so I got the ladder and Joyce was on about the 4th rung when the ladder tipped and she fell silently to the ground. We both thought all was ok as she landed on the grass. I reached down to pull her up and that is when I saw her foot. Just as she hit the ground her ankle hit a cement block. I called an ambulance and due to the seriousness of the injury and the infection that resulted she has spent over 3 weeks in the hospital. She is a self employed house cleaner with no medical insurance. She lives alone and is now unable to pay her rent, utilities and so on. The medical bills are mounting and now that she is finally out of the hospital she has to see 3 different doctors each week. She was sent home with a wound vac which constantly sucks out the wound. The recovery period unfortunately is going to be long term. Any amount of $$$ that you can afford to donate will be greatly appreciated by all. Thank you so very much.

PS: Roy just finished with his chemo and radiation last week and we should know in approx 3 weeks if his lung cancer is gone. All prayers are welcome!
