We did it! We won first place at the ICCA quarterfinals! And now we need your help.
The Varsity Vocals International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) is an annual competition for collegiate a cappella groups around the world. Each group competes in a quarterfinal in its region. The top two groups at each quarterfinal move on to their region's semifinal. The first place group at each semifinal competes in the final competition in New York.
On Feb. 1, Mind the Gap, the University of Oregon's only co-ed a cappella group, tied for first place at its quarterfinal competition in Eugene, Oregon. This is the first time the group has placed in the top two and had the opportunity to advance. Mind the Gap now will move on to compete in the West region ICCA Semifinal on April 5 in Claremont, California.
We are thrilled to have the opportunity to represent the University of Oregon at such a prestigious competition, but we are going to need some help to get there. Getting a group of 14 people from Oregon to Southern California for a weekend is expensive, and as college students we don't have a lot of resources to pull from.
We are hoping to raise $2,000 by March 9 to cover the cost of travel and accommodations. This is an all or nothing campaign so if we don't raise the full amount, we get nothing. Please donate, and share this with your friends!
Thank you so much for your support. We wouldn't be where we are today without our family, friends, and fans.
