"Hello " my name is Marcia Hendricks I'm from a small town called Black River in St Elizabeth Jamaica, My community was deeply impacted by hurricane Melissa the strongest hurricane to ever hit our island causing catastrophic damages pushing the death toll as far as 57 confirmed deaths, their are people trapped in communities now as I'm reaching out to you.
Over the past few days since disaster struck alot have been homelesss, starving and in need of AID assistance please I'm reaching out to anyone out thier that can assists in Rebuilding Hope for my country and community
after the devastation Hurricane Melissa brought to our island .
When Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, it didn’t just destroy homes — it tore apart the hearts and hopes of hundreds of people who had so little to begin with. Families who were already struggling to survive are now left with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
I created this GoFundMe because I cannot stand by and watch my Jamaican brothers and sisters suffer in silence. Many of these individuals — mothers, fathers, children, and elderly citizens — were already homeless before the storm hit. For them, Hurricane Melissa wasn’t just another natural disaster. It was a nightmare that took away their last bit of shelter, safety, and stability.
Right now, people are sleeping under broken roofs, on soaked cardboard, or in overcrowded shelters. Clean water is scarce. Food is limited. And the rain hasn’t stopped reminding them of what they’ve lost.
But together, we can bring back hope. ❤️
Every dollar raised here will go directly toward:
• Providing food, clean water, and hygiene kits
• Supplying tents, blankets, and clothing for displaced individuals
• Helping rebuild small homes and community shelters
• Supporting local volunteers who are working around the clock to deliver aid
Even a small donation can make a big difference — one warm meal, one dry bed, one moment of relief for someone who feels forgotten.
Jamaica is known for its strength, its music, and its spirit. And even in tragedy, that spirit still shines. Let’s stand with the people of Jamaica and remind them they are not alone. Together, we can help rebuild not just homes, but hope.
Please donate and share this campaign — every act of kindness helps us move one step closer to healing.
