Everyone, we’d like you to meet Zuzu…
Remus had a call from his cousin about a big white girl running in the road. And sure enough ‘big white girl’ was there.
She was limping and couldn’t weight bare on one of her front legs. Upon further examination and multiple X-rays and second opinions it’s shown that Zuzu was born with a genetic deformity in her front legs.
Zuzus prognosis is not good. She needs surgery immediately. Her X-rays showed signs of Panosteitis
Hypertrophic osteodystrophy
And a lack of d3
She is currently on daily supplements and pain killers whilst the vets make a surgical plan.
The estimated cost of her surgery plus follow up treatment is £1500
Despite her size, Zuzu is a puppy and she’s only 5 months old. She already weighs 23kg and is completely underweight and malnourished for her build. As she grew it’s likely her deformity became more pronounced and that was why she’d been abandoned. She is also a live stock guardian and loves everyone and everything from kids to cats to adults and other dogs. She would pull to say hello to everyone on the street. With dogs being bred for working roles, it’s also likely she was seen as too friendly to be kept for work.
I can’t describe the instant connection you make with this girl. I looked into her eyes before even knowing her story and knew we had to do whatever we could to help her get back on her feet.
I know when we pull together we have the ability to make magical things happen in our little corner of rescue. And I know we won’t stop until we make this little girls future free of pain.
If anyone can donate even £1 we will be £1 closer to that future for her.
From the bottom of our hearts, and hers,
Thankyou
