Help Michelle Fight Cancer

Donation protected
On January 9th, 2020 Michelle and Stephen Rodriguez were supposed to be celebrating the soon-to-be birth of their first child at a baby shower filled with friends and family. Instead, Michelle was lying in a hospital bed listening to doctors explain that she had several masses in her neck.

She was rushed to the hospital two days earlier when she started having difficulty breathing. The doctors discovered masses that were obstructing her airway and did a biopsy. Though Michelle wasn’t due to deliver for another three weeks, the doctors decided it would be best to schedule a C-section early and then discuss her condition. So, on January 23, 2020 beautiful Everly Jane Rodriguez was born—a healthy, happy baby girl and a great joy to the world.

For a moment, everything was okay. And then the day after Everly was born, the doctors explained that Michelle had Stage 3S Hodgkin's Lymphoma that had spread from her neck to her heart and liver. Michelle—a total warrior—had a bone marrow biopsy, iron transfusions and started chemotherapy that very same week. It kicked off the beginning of a 6-month plan of biweekly chemotherapy treatments.

Doctors are confident that Michelle will beat cancer—and so are we. She is a fighter and she has so much to fight for. But she and Stephen need our help. Being a new parent is an amazing experience—but it’s exhausting. And now their family will bravely face cancer on top of all the sleepless (and wonderful) nights.

Since Michelle won’t be able to work while she is undergoing treatment and caring for Everly, our community has the opportunity to come alongside the Rodriguez family and support them financially as they fight. Your donations will help them meet their basic needs (groceries, rent, medical bills) over the next year so that they can focus on healing and connecting as a family.

Thank you so much for your prayers, donations, and support. And thank you for coming around the Rodriguez family and showing them they are loved and not alone in this fight.
