We built our first home in 2000. We were the second family in the neighborhood. Who would have thought that God would have brough two God loving homeschool families to gether. Our children play, studied and just enjoyed life together. We have seen many changes but have never moved. Its home.
Sure it was small with eight people living in a 1300sq. ft. home but we made it work. Of course the girls got the master bedroom with the bathroom and walk in closet but there were four of them at the time.
The two boys go the next largest room and Julie and I was were the smaller. But it was just enough,
Over the years we have seen families come and go. I have been fortunate to be employed for a NASA contractor for over seventeen years. That came to and end when my contract ended in September 2015.
Family circumstances, my parents passing and the extra expense of taking care of their final expenses not to mention supplementing their medical expenses while still at home in the final days were burdensome. We barely escaped foreclorsure several times during that period, taking hardship withdrawals from our retirement savings to make end meet. But it was what was needed and as a family everyone chipped in - every child contributed something when the chips were down. Julie raised them right:-)
Well since October I have picked up odd jobs, exhausted our savings and ended up filing for Chapter 13 to retain our assets - at least the automobiles and our primary dwelling at 83 Rolling Meadows RD SE Hartselle, AL 35640.
But now we are at dire straits. I will be going back to work on March 14, 2016 for General Dynamics. But the timeline for the Chapter 13 is becoming a threat to us continuing to live in our home and retain a dependable vehicle to commute to work and church. We are at a deadline of March 21, 2016 to raise $3800 to bring our case current and avoid demissal. We are also behind on our mortage payments ~$2700.
NOTE: It was brought to our attention that the numbers needed didn't add up so we edited the goal to reflect the minimum needed ($3800+$2700) to $6500. Sorry for the flub on my part and thanks to all who have contributed both monetarily and in prayers!
During this time we have not signed up for federal help, food assistance or any form of welfare including unemployment. We have depending on God and have seen Him increase our faith through all this.
I will be going back to work and cash flow will begin to trickle in starting in April. I know we will be alright. We are asking for assistance from like minded families and business people who may have been through simular circumstances and overcame.
Anything will be appreaciated and may the Lord Jesus richly bless you in all your endeavors.
Sincerely
Tim and Julie McCarley
