We are friends of Blanca Anchondo and her sons.
Blanca Anchondo and her sons Luis (19) and Emmanuel (12) (pictured above).
Desperatly and urgently need your help.
A review of Blanca and her sons situation, reveals, that she is a single Mother and both of her boys are severely afflicted with Cerebral Palsy.
Blanca is the sole support of her sons, providing, shelter, food, clothing, transportation and all the needs of the boys.
The Father of the boys and Blanca are divorced, he is not present in their lives and provides no financial or support of any kind.
Medical care for the boys, is provided by Medicaid and some limited support is provided by SSI.
Blanca earns a minimal income, by cleaning homes. She is self employed and she is an excellent, reliable and hard working person who takes pride in her work.
The van which Blanca currently uses to transport her sons, is over 10 years old and has more than 100,000 miles on the odometer. It is a Dodge mini van and is not suitable for conversion to a van that can accommodate the loading and unloading of wheelchairs.
Emmanuel is currently the primary user of the need for the loading and unloading capability that is required, because of his constant use of a wheelchair.
However, Luis is experiencing a deteriorating ability to walk and his use of a wheelchair is expected increase.
Currently Blanca must lift and manhandle Emmanuel into and out of the van and lift load/ unload his heavy chair.
This activity is dangerous to both Blanca and Emmanuel. In future with Luis' increased need to use a wheelchair, Blanca would not be able to help Luis because of his size.
Blanca transports her sons to school, church, medical appointments and wherever they need to go, in the course of their daily lives.
The cost of a used conversion van with 50, 000 miles on the odometer, with wheelchair lift capability, is about $25,000. Blanca's income does not provide for this type of expense, even if the van is financed over time.
Please help us, in meeting the needs of this strong, Loving and responsible Mother, in her daily struggle, to care for the of her severely disabled sons.
God Bless you and we Thank you in advance for your support and generosity.
