My friend Stephanie has been battling with her health since 2015 and it’s been an on and off struggle. If you know Steph she won’t give up until she finds answers. After seeing several doctors in Boston along with endless ER visits, she finally found 2 doctors willing to dig deeper.
After extensive testing she was diagnosed with a severe case of Small Fiber Peripheral Neuropathy. (or SFPN) Nerve biopsy test results revealed a score 0.4 (anything under 8.3 is considered abnormal) - Which means her nerves are nearly dead. This has greatly affected her ability to live a normal life, this has affected her entire body, her spine, and more immensely her breathing function. This has caused walking to be painful, and she’s in a state of chronic pain and extreme muscular weakness.
Secondary to the SFPN she has also been diagnosed at Brigham and Woman’s with Dysautonomia, an Autonomic Nervous System Disorder. This affects her bladder, her intestines, blood vessels, BP, and oxygen levels.
She is suffering immensely and fighting hard to get her life back. It’s been a long and tedious journey to find the right doctors willing to understand and treat her properly.
So far all methods of treatment have failed her. She has had no improvement and has only gotten worse.
After throughly researching and consulting with many doctors the only method that is promising to this condition is the integrative approach. We have found a group of Functional medicine Doctors who are willing to work with her and have successfully -treated her condition in other patients. Unfortunately, these treatments are not covered by insurance and are out of state!
She will still be undergoing much more testing and because of her inconsistent health struggle, she has not had an income in over a year and I was hoping that together we could help her in this fight by blessing her with the much needed finances for doctors visits, medical expenses, iv infusions, low dose immunotherapy, compound pharmacy meds, and herbal medicine.
I’m asking for help from those who love and know Steph’s heart and want to help her on her road to recovery and play a role in her healing journey.
