Cedar's Emergency Surgery and Care Fees

Hello, I am Hannah, Cedar's momma. For those of you who don't know Cedar he is an amazingly lovable 3 year old bernese mountain dog. He is also my psychiatric service dog. Unfortunately back in October he got ended up swallowing a chicken skewer at a festival.

I took him to the emergency vet who found no foreign body and sent us home to monitor. Later in November he started limping and we were told he had Lyme disease which we treated through January. He continued to have pain and finally this April we were directed to Neurology who on MRI found that that the wooden skewer was missed by the previous vets and migrated through his spleen and into his thigh causing major infection.

We were faced with the decision of emergency surgery or letting him go. We have decided to try and give him a fighting chance. However insurance will not cover stating it was a pre-existing condition. And with the MRI, surgery, and 6 month course of antibiotics we are facing a crippling bill.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. He goes into surgery Monday and I will keep this page updated with his progress.
