As you all know we have lost a husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many and coworkers. He will be deeply missed by all. I’m setting up this account to help Richards family with the many expenses they will have come up.
For myself, I have known Richard for over 21 short years. When I first met Richard is when he was hired on in Valdez to work for Big State. Larry Chesley the manager down there met me out in the yard and said he hired a new driver that I needed to show what hauling fuel was all about since he had been a log hauler. I said sure. He hollered out "hey Richard come over here" and around the corner came this figure that put me immediately in suspicion because what I saw coming at me was this giant hairy thing. I thought I was in a Star Wars movie meeting Chewy the Wookie. Long hair, bushy bearded face and a height that reached to the stars. Intimidating to say the least. But within the first day of training he turned out to be nothing but a giant puppy dog. So, I have the unique distinction of creating the "Wookie" legend.
