Hello, I have recently endured multiple emergencies due to health, employment difficulties, family problems, and unexpected obligations; I have run out of funds and have maxed out my two credit cards, and have been unable to procure new employment because employers are not willing to hire me yet without acceptable medical clearance; my mortgage is overdue by 3 months, my mother lost her car twice, my son is in need of specialized education (He's dislexic), and my brother has also been hospitalized and I have done everything I can to help them all. However, even though I have applied for unemployment and disability, I have run out of options and cannot sustain another month in San Diego. I have sold everything I can of value and am desperate for a way out, have tried Navy Relief and multiple other veterans aid programs as well as employment resources and have been unable to resolve my situation. I don't know what to do, the economy is booming but I'm sinking, and I've never been this desperate; I need some sort of break. I am trying to sell this house, minimize my belongings, and move out of San Diego, possibly to Texas. As of this writting I have $224.00 to my name, upcoming child support (I have 2 daughters that live with their mother in Oklahoma), bills due for phone, water, sewage, trash, electricity, gas, and of course my credit, and as I mentioned I have been unable to pay the mortgage, I have contacted the lender and since they don't know me from Adam I will not get a break from them. I can confirm all of these issues if needed; it's difficult for me to ask for help, I have always been someone who believes I can handle any situation, yet I have been unable to do so and I must go against my pride and ask for any relief. The figure I have tentatively proposed is to pay off all creditors and hopefully allow me to move on with dignity. Help does not have to be monetary necesarilly, if someone sees this and can assist me in securing employment or other help, it will all be appreciated. As I said, all I need is a chance to recover. I'm a hard working, disciplined, educated, skilled, resourceful and capable person, a lifetime military veteran honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, a patriot and a law abiding citizen. What else can I mention? If you wish to contact me for information my e-mail and phone number are in the contact information on this site. If you need my address I will provide it if asked for. It's OK to research me as you see fit, I understand that people are skeptical and I promise that I will be absolutely forthcoming about any claims and statements that I make. I am sincerely asking for your help and I thank you in advance for your consideration. Respectfully, SSgt Cruz, David C. / USMC (Ret).
