Anna and Luke’s Embryo Adoption Story

Hello everyone! Our names are Rachel Goodeill and Sarah Trader. We are Anna’s sisters. Growing up in a family with 5 kids and being a mom myself (Rachel) The old saying “it takes a village!” rings true in our lives! We have set up this go fund me page for Anna and Luke in hopes that we can all come around them with prayer , love, and financial support for their adoption! We are personally both firm believers in the power of God and the community! We consider it a blessing to come along side them on this journey and hope you feel the same too!
600,000 frozen embryos are stored in the U.S! The need for adoptive families is growing daily!
Anna and Luke have struggled with multiple miscarriages for a few years. It has been one of the hardest things they have gone through. Through it all though they have seen God’s incredible strength, faithfulness, and blessing upon them. Even before they were married Luke and Anna have wanted to adopt! Through much prayer and consideration, they have chosen embryo adoption. Embryo adoption is when a couple creates embryos through IVF and they have too many embryos left over that they don’t intend to use themselves. That family then has to make a decision on what to do with their remaining embryos. They can either discard of them, donate them to science, keep them frozen indefinitely or donate them to another family. When they are donated to another family many legal and medical steps need to be taken before a successful transfer of an embryo can happen. Even though this is not as expensive as fertility treatments or traditional adoption, it is still an expensive procedure; costs typically averaging between $10,000-$20,000.
Anna and Luke believe adoption is close to the heart of God and excited that they will be able to make adoption a reality for their family. Using an embryo essentially frozen in time is a beautiful way to make that happen for them!
