Woman Made Gallery is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit organization founded in 1992. Its goal is to cultivate, promote and support the work of female-identified artists by providing exhibition opportunities, professional development, and public programs that invite discussion about what feminism means today.
On August 1st, Woman Made Gallery has experienced a break-in and robbery. Our donation and cash boxes were raided and the front glass door was completely shattered. In the 23 years of WMG's history, we have never had such an incident take place. Fortunately, the artwork and the rest of the gallery space was all intact and left undamaged. Most importantly, no one was hurt.
As a non-profit, our budget is consistently tight and limited. We are graciously reaching out to our supporters for your help in raising funds to replace our front door, a necessary component in continuing to keep our space and artwork safe and protected.
Current status: The culprit has not yet been identified or apprehended. As a temporary fix, our building maintenance has boarded up our door with an industrial steel plate and some wood. We will continue to hold our scheduled programs and stay open during our regular business hours.
Any additional funds we receive will go towards supporting artists and community based programming.
