Saving Olyvia Lynn-Grace

My name is Lissa (Melissa) Allen. I am a single mom to three beautiful children. Ashley, Olyvia and Liam and I’m trying to raise money for my daughter, Olyvia.
Olyvia is a 14 year old 9th grader who has been struggling with serious emotional issues that have forced her to seek extremely unhealthy and very harmful ways of coping. Olyvia began at about the age of 11 self-harming by way of cutting and burning herself. This very quickly escalated to the use of drugs and alcohol as well as the development of an eating disorder. By the age of 12 ½ Olyvia was completely entrenched in her emotional and psychological illness. I actively sought out an enormous amount of ways to help her, to no avail. At the age of 14 Olyvia was admitted to an in-patient treatment facility in Oregon State for 39 days. Although the treatment was helpful, it only barely scratched the surface of Olyvia’s issues. Just when she was really beginning to trust and open up, she was released. This was far too soon and her inability to cope became apparent rather quickly. Olyvia discovered prescription drugs within five weeks of being released from treatment and her eating disorder has reared its ugly head. On January 5, 2016 at the precious age of 14, my Baby Girl overdosed on prescription drugs. To see my Olyvia in the hospital with the look of death combined with utter desperation and hooked up to all the monitors and tubes…I can’t even begin to describe the devastation and pain in my heart! We thank God for her full recovery but she is not out of the woods.
Over the course of the last three years Olyvia has never denied having issues. She freely admits that she needs help and that her choices of coping are not healthy. She has participated in her recovery to the best of her ability, all the while telling all of us and her doctors…”I just want to be happy”.
Very clearly Olyvia’s issues are far deeper than her therapist, her psychiatrist, we her family and 39 days in treatment have been able to uncover. We have all agreed (Olyvia included) that what she needs, what my Baby Girls life depends on, is a long term residential facility that will address each and every one of Olyvia’s issues. Issues she battles every single day. Battles my precious Olyvia is losing. I have researched a large number of facilities and I have found what I believe to be the one that will address all of Olyvia’s issues, I have found these things in a facility called La Europa and it is located in Utah.
Although I have fairly good insurance, it only covers approximately 35% of what the program costs. As I stated earlier, I am a single mom and time is of the essence. Olyvia doesn’t have months or the years it would take for me to save the money it will cost. It is for this reason that I am desperately seeking donations of whatever you can possibly help with. We ask for your prayers first and foremost and if your heart is willing, please help my Baby Girl. She has so much promise.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read Olyvia’s story! We are grateful for all prayers, well wishes and any other help we receive.
