Dear Friends & Family,
On January 3rd, 2019, our beloved Marco passed so suddenly during the recovery from a surgery of a liver infection. Marco was only 6.5 years old when he passed.
Marco was very smart and quite the talker, he would get peoples attention with his little whines, and before you knew it, You would be standing in the kitchen with this dog, staring into your soul with his big blue eyes, and giving him treats. He was the most loyal and obedient dog. Marco was the happiest little soul and meant the world to those he touched.
A week before Marco passed, he was Mountain biking with Ryan in the nearby canyon. A few days before his passing, he showed symptoms of a viral infection, but no symptoms of what could be an internal infection. Ryan could only make a vet appointment after the New Year. Two days before passing, Ryan came home to find Marco curled up in the backyard, barely able to lift his head, and had heavy breathing and drool running down his mouth. Ryan quickly took him to the Vet. He was in septic shock in the ICU. He underwent emergency surgery for a liver abscess. Everything was done to give this young strong dog the best possible chance for life.
On January 3rd, Marco passed away at 1 am. Ryan was with him when he died, right next to him holding him. He was working hard to breathe and they called Ryan to come in and when he walked in everything calmed down and he began breathing normally. And there was peace. He knew He was with him. He knew. And 10 minutes later he suddenly stopped breathing and his heart stopped. He made the decision for himself. He knew Ryan was there and was ok letting go. That was his final gift to him.
I know so many of you loved Marco and I am sure he made an impact in your life at some point. Marco was a part of Ryan, he loved that dog more than anything he has ever loved before and as much as he says he is okay, he could really use our help.
Ryan would be grateful for everyone who is able to donate to help with Marco’s medical expenses. Any donation amount is appreciated, and please only donate if you are able to.
